Bugsy Kindergarten Reading School provides a fun environment for children to learn a variety of educational skills with the help of Bugsy the hamster. This animated learning environment includes narration for words, phrases, and instructions for each activity as well as simple interactive illustrations that won’t distract kids as they learn. Developers have done a nice job creating a learning environment that is easy to use and conducive to learning for young children.
Education
This is one app parents and teachers do not want to miss out on. The educational value is exceptional as it provides children practice with the alphabet, phonics, spelling, reading, and over 370 vocabulary words. Some of the activities include finding the missing letter, selecting a word with a certain sound, or putting letters in the correct order to spell a word, all of which provide great practice for children in Kindergarten.
There are also 6 levels for each activity that are self-adjusting so as kids successfully complete a specified number of activities, the app will automatically transition into a higher level. Parents/teachers can also track progress through the settings section to view the number of correct/incorrect answers and which letters/activities need the most practice. And for those with multiple users, you can set up accounts for each child to track the progress of each. In the education department, this app is superb!
Entertainment
Bugsy Kindergarten Reading School is a primarily educational app and doesn’t have much in the entertainment department with the exception of the reward system. After successfully collecting 4 stars in segment of the activity, children get to select a toy to play/interact with Bugsy. With that said it would be nice to have an additional game within the app as an additional activity to increase the entertainment value of this app.

Child Friendliness
Not only is this app easy to use, it is also set up to protect children as they play. The settings section is protected so children cannot easily gain access. In order to get into this area you have to swipe your fingers across the screen in a very distinct way. Parents and teachers will certainly appreciate the extra protection developers have implemented in this app.
