Monster Heart Medic is a great, interactive app for kids that teaches lots of great health information in a fun, game-like environment. The developers have done a great job making this app engaging and fun with various tasks for players to complete as they learn. The illustrations and interactive images used within the app are cartoon-like with bright colors and simple background music to keep children engaged. There is a lot of text within the app from various characters sharing health information and directions for players to move forward in the game and unfortunately there isn’t an option for narration, which would definitely make the app a bit more user friendly. It also takes some getting used to in the very beginning to understand all aspects of the app, but once children begin playing, they won’t want to stop.

There is no doubt that Monster Heart Medic is full of great health information and it’s presented in a fun way. The object of the app is to help Ragnar the monster get healthy again. Through a series of tests, lessons about the cardiovascular system, exercise, eating right, and lots of other great information, players must help guide Ragnar back to health. Throughout the app children will learn about heart murmurs, high blood pressure, exercise, and lots of the tests and tools doctors use to diagnose specific conditions. The only thing that would add a bit more value to his app is providing a narrated option for all of the text that is involved. It would definitely help keep auditory learners engaged in the material they are learning. Other than that, the developers have done a great job with this app.
