If you’re looking for the charm of a printed book, with a few little interactions for the youngest, you’ll probably like this eBook from Scholastic. As far as some of the eBooks we’ve reviewed it really doesn’t push the envelope or try anything too interesting with the interactivity, but it is a good app version of the book.
Scholastic is a familiar brand in children’s books, and this book is nice for toddlers and preschoolers. I Love You Through and Through is based on the book by Bernadette Rossetti-Shustak and Caroline Jayne Church and teaches the valuable lesson that you are loved even when you aren’t being “lovable”, throwing tantrums, food and crying.
The most disappointing thing about this app is that instead of developing a universal app, there are 2 separate apps – one for iPhone/iPod and a separate one for iPad. Both versions are $4.99 which is at the high end for an ebook. Sure, you can still see the regular version on your iPad, but scaled up for the iPad these apps never look as good.
This is a best app for kids because it's a simple app that has a charm of a book with a few interactive elements for toddlers and preschoolers.
