Quality

Toddlers Musical Tunes is a cute and colorful app with lots of musical homes to explore. Children are going to love the various songs, musical notes, and fun instruments they get to explore within each home as the developers have done a great job with the sound effects and music throughout the app. The graphics are brightly colored and with some bouncing images are sure to keep children engaged and exploring as they play. The user interface is also pretty intuitive as children can simply tap and touch their way through the app to explore the various houses.

Education

One of the great things about this app is that it teaches children about a variety of musical instruments and their sounds. Within the various musical houses players can view new instruments. As they tap each image, they get to hear what that particular instrument sounds like as well as learn the name of each. Combining visual and auditory learning is great as it allows children to learn in a variety of ways.

Entertainment

In addition to the educational elements within the app, the developers have done a nice job of incorporating a few fun activities for children to enjoy. The Clown House includes a few fun musical toys for children to explore and enjoy while The Puzzle House offers a musical quiz for children to test their knowledge of the various instruments. The Rhymes House offers some classic nursery rhyme songs that can be played using a variety of instruments. These added bits of entertainment are great for children of all ages as it keeps them engaged and having fun.

The free version includes a few activities within each musical house which allows players to get an idea of what the app is all about. For what you get with the free version, this app is a good value with many more options if you decide to purchase the full version.

Child Friendliness

While Toddler’s Musical Tunes is easy for children to use, it does have a lot of (protected) buttons that can get a bit distracting for children as they play. There are various locked activities throughout the app that when tapped take you to the upgrade page. For young children this can get quite frustrating as they then have to close out the window in order to get back to their playing area. Simply using a pop up that is protected to allow for the upgrade might be a better idea so it’s easy for children to continue playing.
