With Brain Pop you learn something new everyday – whether it’s about the solar system, DNA or equal rights. Each topic starts with a fun animated video that is basically cliff notes for kids and features an expressive, but non-verbal robot and Tim – the teacher/narrator.
The tone is light even when serious topics are covered, such as Civil Rights, making it approachable for even young kids. Even adults can get a refresher in topics long forgotten.
After you watch the video on the topic of the day, you can take a 10 question quiz where you can save your scores. There is one featured topic a day, but you can view over 20 different topics in the library.
Although, this app works best for 2nd graders through 5th graders, it works for most age groups, including adults. There is also a junior version (not tested at this time) that was developed for kindergartners to 3rd graders.
