3….2….1 and the countdown begins to an amazing galactic math adventure with Zap Zap Math! If you are a parent or teacher looking for a way to get your kids excited about learning math, then this is the app for you! With dozens of fun games, funny little alien characters, and plenty of education thrown in you just cannot go wrong with this app!
There are several levels of play for children ranging from preschool-level to more advanced elementary-level skills. Each of the games has a fun and engaging space explorer theme that school-aged kids will love. The games range from simple and basic games like counting alien cells to more difficult things like measuring angles, with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in between. There is a really fun hamburger making game that my kids loved and my favorite geometry sushi game where kids must collect sushi roll pieces that are the correct shape combinations to complete the order. Each of the games is unique in its approach to teaching math skills to children which really forces them to think outside the box and look at math problems from several different perspectives. This translates to valuable problem solving skills and strategies that will carry over into their school work and all aspects of their lives. This app is a free download with new games added weekly! Plus, this app is ad-free which I am a big fan of! Additionally, you can go to their website and sign up for a free account which allows you to track the progress and activity of your child/children.
I really enjoyed playing Zap Zap Math and so did my kids! It was so fun that even my preschooler, who really can’t add or subtract yet, wanted me to play it with him so he could learn! I love that! I think it definitely appealed more to my boys who are 5 and 7 than it did to my 9 year old daughter, but I really think that children of all ages will have fun playing it; especially if they need to practice their math facts anyway. Zap Zap Math is one of those apps that your children will have fun playing and won’t make parents feel guilty about the screen time they have while playing. The benefits are as endless as the fun.
