More 4 Monkey introduces kids to basic number skills. As kids go through the different activities within the app, they learn concepts such as more/less and basic counting skills. They also get a chance to boost their memory skills.

Features include:

  • Fun math games
  • Positive reinforcement
  • Repetitive instructions
  • Multiple user profiles

When kids first open the app, they’ll see the main screen. On the top of the main screen is an area where parents can set up a profile for the child. The app supports multiple child profiles. On the bottom of the screen are buttons for the tutorial and to play. If kids select the tutorial, they’ll get an overview of the app’s main activities. If they select the play button, they’ll be taken to a map. From there, they can select what area to play in. In the free version, only portions of the map are enabled. Parents can unlock the rest of the app through an in-app purchase.

All of the graphics and sounds within in the app are designed for kids. However, the graphics lack a little bit of the same high quality and polish that are found in similar kids apps.

Kids build number skills through the activities within the app. Most of the activities are very similar. For example, kids will see two pools filled with items and be instructed to “touch the side that has more things.” In another game, they may watch items go into a picnic basket and then identify which picnic blanket shows the correct number of items. Repetition is used to help kids understand the concepts.

As kids play the games, they’re rewarded with stars and other elements of positive reinforcement. Kids will also enjoy playing games from different parts of the map.

More 4 Monkey can be downloaded for free. Parents can purchase access to the full app and a parent dashboard/progress monitoring through an in-app purchase. The price for the in-app purchase is higher than apps that cover similar skills. A lack of quality in the app also makes the in-app purchase price seem higher than it should be.

Child Friendliness

On the main screen, parents can tap on the parent icon to see information about the in-app purchase. Access to the in-app purchase is protected by a parental block.
