The life cycles app is a great app for elementary school age children. Each life cycle is illustrated and has both a written and voice over description.The life cycles included are:

Life Cycle of a Frog
Phases of the Moon
Life Cycle of a Butterfly
Plant Life Cycle
Pollination and Fertilization
Rock Cycle
Water Cycle
Photosynthesis
Nitrogen Cycle
Oxygen Cycle

This is not a perfect app, but it is simple, straight forward and effectively teaches each life cycle. There are several features that could take this app to the next level – such as animation and a quiz. Also, while I loved the Southern accent of the narrator, it did sound like it was recorded in a tunnel.

Bottomline:
Compared with other ways of learning this subject (classroom, books, DVD’s) this app does a good albeit basic job while the $0.99 price tag is great.
