Motivated Moms Review

I have a confession to make….I’m a Putterer.  No, we aren’t a golfing family I just tend to fritter away my day when no plan is in place.  While that can be very nice and relaxing on occasion, it doesn’t make for an organized life on a daily basis.  When our oldest was born I continued to work outside the home. In order to stay on top of things I had to be organized and kept everything I needed to do in a nice “planner” with a lists of things to check off.  When more little ones entered our nest I made the shift to stay-at-home mom.  Tiny tots underfoot still required a lot of organization. But now my kids are older and I have more free time available and I find that I putter. I’ve been looking for a way to get back on track and luckily I’ve taken a step in the right direction with a handy app called Motivated Moms.

Motivated Moms 2013 is a pre-planned list of chores to get you on the way to a clean and organized home while making sure to allow time for yourself and other obligations we have.  Their system is designed to spread out all the chores you might have on your list into a time conscious, manageable to-do.

What I really liked was their breakdown. This is part of the list of things I did today.  Look at all those lovely checkmarks and btw the beds did get made ? Jobs in the kitchen is where I tend to get bogged down and spend way to much time puttering.  Tuesday’s list had me complete my dish duties and clean the sink, easy companion chores right?  Rinse the dishes, load the dishwasher and then clean the sink.  Next clean just the bottom shelf of the fridge. Not the whole thing, no full day expedition, just the bottom shelf today.   Last I change the dishcloths and towel and ta-da, I’m done for the day.

Breaking jobs down on a rotating daily basis gets everything done without having one big cleaning day.  That really appeals to me since its similar to my regular setup. Its also easy to customize your plan. Jobs you don’t need can easily be hidden.  For us that meant no feeding or caring for pet chores.  It’s also easy to assign tasks to someone.  Many of the chores fit in with the kids daily ones, so I simply tapped the job, pressed edit and then shared the work with the family. The workability of the app was great!

Motivated Moms 2013 is helping me get back on track this year, but it is a bit on the pricey side.  If you are looking for real motivation and are willing to stick with it I think you’ll find its worth it.  To give it a test run first they have provided a lite version with two weeks of preprogrammed tasks and the ability to add five custom jobs.
